When you think of Connemara it is easy to imagine enjoying a drink in a village pub with traditional entertainment. Or watching the sun set while you enjoy an excellent dinner in a hotel in Clifden or a restaurant in Oughterard. But the real beauty of Connemara lies in its natural and unspoiled landscape.

Drive along the coast from Galway city and you will find lots of little seaside towns and villages each with their own charm and with plenty of pubs, restaurants, hotels and guesthouses. Go inland across the wide open spaces of bogland and summer flowers and head for Recess past the rugged peaks of the 12 Bens mountains.

Visit the beautiful Renvyle peninsula with spectacular ocean views and breathtaking scenery. Or travel to Leenane which sits at the head of Killary Harbour which is 15 kilometres long and flanked by steeply rising mountain slopes that rise from the waters edge.
